PickMeAfter all these years working with $100k+ clients, it still confounds me when someone asks me for a portfolio package targeting “any leadership role.” It seems to me that it is naïve for anyone to ask for a six-figure salary and not even know what position they are targeting. How could anyone ask for top compensation and not offer something more concrete than any kind of general management job?

When you are looking for a senior-level position, you need to know that you are selling your services to your potential employer. They will only buy your services if you clearly tell them what role you will play in helping them achieve their objectives. So, it follows that you must craft your resume and professional portfolio to define your job and meet the organization’s needs.

To take this one step further, as a senior manager, you should not send an identical resume out to every employer. If it’s taking you a while to secure a position, you might be approaching your search the wrong way. Don’t be tempted to send your template resume to anyone and everyone who may be hiring. Although the job titles may be similar, some companies might be looking for different qualities. You need to determine each employer’s specific needs and focus your cover letter and resume to those needs.

Determining the type of organization you want to work for will help you narrow down your search and target your ideal employers, so you won’t have to settle for second best.

If you are unable to create a strategic, targeted professional resume portfolio, retain someone to help you create a package that clearly outlines your job target and can be easily tailored to different employers’ needs. This strategy will reduce your workload, enable you to focus on appropriate roles in correct companies, and minimize the time it will take you to transition into your next career.

Customization of resume is an art that does not come easily to every jobseeker.
Then there is a science of customization which converts a plain text resume into
    8 graphs, online / automatically / instantly.
If the main goal of a resume is to capture the attention of the recruiters and it’s
secondary goal is to motivate the recruiters to read it long enough to interpret the
jobseeker’s story, then you will appreciate what http://www.CustomizeResume.com can
    do for your career.
To impress the recruiters, what you need is a graphical / visual / analytical presentation.
