This year, resolve to operate with integrity and get a first-rate 6-figure job in a high quality, ethical organization. Here are some steps that you can take to accomplish your New Year’s Resolution:

Review and clean up your resume. Most reputable organizations do background checks, confirm dates with prior employers, and verify academic credentials. One “white lie” can destroy your chances of getting into a good organization.
Whether you are speaking with someone on the phone, attending a meeting, networking, or interviewing – be respectful. Good employers treat their employees with respect. If you want to fit into their culture, treat everyone as you would want to be treated. It does not matter what level of position a person holds, that individual deserves your best behaviour.
Don’t control or dominate interviews; let your hosts take the reins. You are a guest in the organization and no matter how senior you may be, there is never a reason to be rude or pushy in order to get your point across. Never exaggerate in response to a question. Listen intently to questions and respond authentically to their need. If you are a good fit, they will retain you without hesitation.
Give back to others whenever you can. You’ll find that you receive much more in return. Furthermore, people will remember your generosity and when a good opportunity arises, they will give you a call.
