In 2004, Sharon founded Career Professionals of Canada, setting the cornerstones for quality service and the highest ethical standards. As CPC’s executive director, she ensures that the mandate of this national organization – enabling Canadian practitioners to achieve their career and business development goals – is upheld with integrity.

An industry pioneer, Sharon authored the first fully Canadian content books on resume writing – Best Canadian Resumes and Best Canadian Cover Letters. These are paperback volumes, rich with samples submitted by Sharon and her esteemed colleagues. The Best Canadian Resumes Series has become a one-of-a-kind resource for practitioners across Canada. The textbooks, complete with examples of resumes and cover letters, are used nationwide to train and support resume writers, career coaches, and job seekers.

Sharon is a recipient of the Stu Conger Award for Leadership in Career Counselling and Career Development. Sharon championed the creation of a professional certification program to validate the expertise of career professionals across the nation. She is the architect of a Career Development Practitioner (CDP) Certificate Program, entirely designing, developing, and deploying the program across the nation. Sharon conceived and designed the Career Competence self-assessment and professional development planning tool, built on The Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners (S&Gs).

Sharon the force behind CPC’s Canadian Awards of Excellence program, ensuring that peers in the Canadian careers industry recognize those who demonstrate the levels to which she aspires. She has developed numerous webinars, telenetworking programs, and blended delivery courses to drive the field towards excellence in service delivery.
